Metropoli di Carta is an unusual voyage to discover the Soul of the cities of the world. To capture with words the wonders of art cities, growing metropolitan areas, cities on the sea so open to new horizons and ideas. History, legends and stories of cities come to life in Italian, English, Spanish. In each book a city becomes a stage where artists, illuminated leaders, philanthropists, emperors, people of today and of the past animate streets, monuments and architectures.
Each book will describe the magic of how an urban project, meticulously planned developed through incremental changes, created legends and divinities or influenced the character of its people. The author brings to light people and stories of immense value, mainly forgotten by history books, who nevertheless defined the character and soul of each city. To remember them is to immerse oneself in a small invisible world but so rich in meaning.
Discovering the hidden soul of each city is a beautiful experience. This is the essence of each book in the “Metropoli di Carta” series. Even the way we discover each city is unusual and personal: walks, bike rides subway rides. Each movement from one corner to the other is fast, with low pollution, trying to avoid traffic, in rainy, windy, or sunny days. Because we must all have the Earth’s future at heart.
